The Wild

(46 customer reviews)

I brought them to the wilderness because we couldn’t cope with our reality.
The plan was to make a new life that didn’t include heartache.
No people. No technology. No interference.
Just us.
A chance to piece together what was broken.
But the wilderness is untamed and harsh.
Brutal and unforgiving.
It doesn’t give a damn about your feelings.
Tragedy lives there too.
No escaping the truths that won’t let you go.
All you can do is survive where love, no matter how beastly, is the only thing you can truly count on.
Confusing. Wrong. Twisted. Beautiful. Sick.
Love is wild.
And we’re going to set it free.

The Wild is an extremely taboo story. Most will find that the themes in this book will make you incredibly uncomfortable or maybe even offend you. This book is only for the brave, the open-minded, and the ones who crave love in even the most dismal of situations. Extreme sexual themes and violence in certain scenes, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to heavy taboo themes, then this story is not for you.
Seriously, you’ve been warned.
Don’t say I didn’t try.
You’re probably going to cringe many, many, many times.
Even if you’re on the fence, it’s probably not a good idea to proceed.
However, if you’re intrigued and fearless and kind of sort of trust me, then carry on. This book is for you.

First off, I’m just gonna say…..Heed the warnings, they are there for good reason!! I laugh in the face of such warnings but it seems that I have no soul!! LOL!! I’m going to call this one my favorite of 2017 thus far.

Reed and his family know loss so they decide that a change is needed to try and get their lives back…..and Alaska is the destination. But right away things go from bad to worse. Now they need to learn how to survive living in the wild where there’s danger around every corner and they can only trust each other.

  2. Christie L

This book is so real, so raw and yes, taboo. But it is also very well written and as hot as it gets! I read it in one day! Wow!

  3. Colleen Giminiani

The Wild by K. Webster is a mind blowing, sinfully amazing book that consumes you to the core. From the first page, I knew I was a goner to reality and I willingly embraced it with a devilish grin and open arms.

The Wild makes you forget where your morals stand, breaking free from chains and devours you in the most erotic, soulless ways possible.

This is a taboo read that may test your limits, but if you keep an open mind it is beyond worth it.

If you have triggers, this book may not be for you.

If you are hesitant on whether you should read The Wild, then maybe you should pass and start with one of the author’s less taboo reads such as Notice or Easton.

The Wild will tear your soul apart and make it explode with so much defiance, undeniably hotness and a raw edge that will leave you wondering where the author comes up with her stories. I love this author’s mindset, her ability to write with no restraints and without any reserve on what anyone will think. She writes with a vigorous passion that can be felt with each word, each description and each character.

I look forward to reading all that K. Webster writes as she blows me away every time.

this book was amazing yes its taboo but everyone should read this its so much more amazing k webster never disappoints

  5. Nancy

This book is written perfectly; beautifully.
Without spoiling any of it, you need to read it before casting any judgment. It won’t be for everyone. But name a book that is.

I’m so happy I got to read it. I did love this book. I loved it hard! It’s so much more than romance. It’s life. It could very easily be a real life scenario. And no one knows what they have not endured.

God, for the first time I want to say everything about this book that makes it amazing but that would give things away.

My applause, Kristi. You nailed it.

  6. Liz Wallace

This book, had me on the EDGE of insanity all the way to the end! The backstory, the tragedy, the hope, the WILD -in every single sense…..just I can’t even put into words how amazing this was! This is a MUST buy now type of novel….decadence covered in forbidden lust topped with grief, desperation, and the promise of something great. That is all, K Webster is beyond brilliant!

  7. Kelly

Warning: This book is NOT for everyone. This is some serious taboo. Extreme taboo. Take the warnings seriously! If you’re already having doubts, you probably shouldn’t read it.

Will this book push your hard limits? YES
Will this book make you uncomfortable at times? YES
Is it like any other book out there? HELL NO

I could not put this book down! I seriously read it in one sitting. Yes, I cringed during some of the scenes (especially in the beginning). However, if you can focus on the actual story (which is pretty heartbreaking) and keep in mind that it’s FICTIONAL, you can get through it (probably).

I trust in K. Webster. I support K. Webster. She’s not afraid to write outside the box and push the boundaries. And I love that!

  8. Lorena Garcia

    Hands down, AMAZING!

This book did things to me that no other book ever has! My emotions were all over the freaking place. I love reading books that take me out of my comfort zone and push my boundaries, my limits. This book did that and more!

This book definitely did have some elements that will probably not sit well with some people and if that’s the case then I suggest you don’t read it because this book deserves those five stars, if not more. I was completely consumed by this story and mesmerized by the storyline.

I devoured this baby in one sitting. The turns this book takes at the end of the book really took me by surprise and one that I certainly never expected.

I can guarantee you that this book is one that you don’t want to miss because it definitely is one of the best reads I’ve read by far.

K Webster was one of the first author’s I started interacting with when I joined the reading community and I have always supported her work and will continue to do so. I’ve loved every single book of hers that I’ve read and I will continue reading because she is full of surprises when it comes down right to her stories and I absolutely love that about her!

  9. Melissa Joseph

    5 beastly stars!! Well…..

I am not going to give you any hints on this book!! Nope none! But I will say WTF!!

Ok I knew this was a TABOO book but wth I will read anything once and K Webster has NEVER disappointed me…with that being said….she still has not failed!! I absolutely fucking love this book! When I started reading I was like this sounds like an amazing read and I was enthralled. A little while later I was hot and bothered AND totally looking over my shoulder. This book makes you feel naughty, excited but then second guessing if you it is ok to feel that way. Reed is so damn yummy! Made me think bad things!! I loved each and every word in this book!! I don’t know what your trigger points may be (there are some harsh triggers) but if you are open minded.. do NOT hesitate to get this book!! K killed this book!! The writing was phenomenal and the book was so easy to get entranced in that I spent every moment of free time reading!! Do not be the one who missed out because you can’t jump out of the box!!!!

  10. Jenni

Im sorry for all the folks who wont take a chance on this book because of its taboo nature. They are truly missing out!

  11. Sara Smith

This book deals with extremely taboo topics. If you are not into romances that push the boundaries of right and wrong (not only push it but leap right over it or even possibly be shot over that boundary by a canon) then you shouldn’t read this book. If you have never read a K Webster book in your life, than definitely don’t read this one first.

Just when I think that she has written the craziest story that I can think of, one that even gets banned from Amazon, she comes up with one that makes her other taboo stories pale in comparison. The best way to read this book is if you go in blind, don’t read too many reviews or comments and just settle in. In true K Webster style the story that she weaves is not just steamy but loaded with unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes shocking violence, when you least suspect it. A dangerous combination.

You know where this book is heading 5 minutes into starting it, but you actually have no idea where the journey is going to take you. It’s not only a romance but a tale of survival, in more ways than one. Sometimes romantic, sometimes horrific, this book crossed thresholds in my mind that I thought were long set up and impenetrable. She has taken a topic that is so wrong and made it seem so right that while you may not question your own morals, you still wonder how far you would go, what boundaries you would leap over, in the name of love.

The characters dig right into your psyche, making you think and feel all the angsty emotions that go along with breaking those rules. Your heart breaks when theirs does, but your heart will sing with them as well.

I really don’t want to give too much of the story away, so I will leave you with a final plea to trust the author when making the decision about reading this book. If you really and truly think that there are triggers or ANY kind of topic that might turn you off in a romance then turn back, listen to what she says in her warning before you order it. But if you have loved all her stories before I would say then you will likely love this one too, in it’s own conflicting and mysterious way.

*I was given this book for free in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

  12. Charlie Chisholm

This book is extremely taboo. Please do take that warning and listen to it because K does push the boundaries on this one.
Well that is a first for me at first I felt really uncomfortable reading, but once i got into the story I couldn’t get enough, ha ha well I really think I have a problem cause I loved it. YES, I AM GOING TO HELL!!!!
I am not going to say much Because if you like Taboo Stories then this book is for you that is all I will say about it.
I really do wonder if I am sick in the head. I shouldn’t have enjoyed this as much as I did. But K has really pulled this book off and it is written so well it will have you turning pages wondering what will happen.. Just make sure if you start you must READ IT TILL THE END.

All you can do is survive where love, no matter how beastly, is the only thing you can truly count on.

    Confusing. Wrong. Twisted. Beautiful. Sick.

    Love is wild.
And we’re going to set it free.

“My heart is free. No longer caged by the world but released by love.”

“I lose my head around you and I don’t even care anymore. I just love you in a way I can’t even begin to describe.”

  13. Elizabeth S.

I read The Wild in one sitting–I should say, more like DEVOURED it. I had a moment of slight hesitation going into it, but pushed that aside. And I’m SO glad I did, because THIS book is absolutely brilliant! It’s a story that won’t be for everyone–the author puts those warnings out in the open for a reason. However, if you like taboo subjects, then READ THIS BOOK. Ignore what others might say, go in open-minded, and just read it in it’s entirety. K Webster will draw you in and push boundaries–but she doesn’t fail to deliver a captivating story with a raw, burning, passionate, all-consuming WILD love.

  14. Kim

Absolutely phenomenal!!! I could not put this book down! Is it taboo? Yes. Did I enjoy it? YES!! Loved it! If you have chance to read this book go for it! Read the entire thing! It’s so much more than a taboo read, this book has a massive brilliant story that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout!

  15. Lg Reads

When you decide to read a K Webster book, you have to recognize that you have failed to heed her warnings, her pleas to tell you, DANGER! KEEP OUT! STOP!! Yes, I have been warned and no I don’t care how twisted and filthy and taboo it is going to be.

This story about darkness, lust, the forbidden, true love, sorrow, happiness and revelation. This book takes in you one page one and does not let you breathe till the bitter end. What I started in the beginning believing in my heart to be true ends entirely differently.

Some of the hottest and most taboo sex scenes I’ve ever read. Left me tingly in a way that I shouldn’t be. The desire to love and be forever protected is an incredibly written theme. The idea of being completely free and wild in the every possible way makes this one of my favorite reads this year.

Five freaking stars, and remember YOU HAVE BEEN Warned!!

  16. Amy Waugh

When I’m told I can’t have something I want it that much more! I was intrigued to read this before it was pulled, and I have a thing for censorship, I effing hate it! This book was so good. This is the first I’ve read by her but I loved it. While it is taboo, I suggest you read it before you judge because it’s really not as bad as it seems. I’ve definitely read much worse from books, I don’t want them banned either. This is a story of love and survival. And honestly I had an inkling of what was going to happen because if you pay attention there are small clues. It’s really not that big of a surprise. Anyway, loved it! I will definitely be reading more by K. Webster!

  17. Vera

Can I just say I love K. Webster!!
This story is not for everyone!! It is taboo!! It is not a lovey dovey romance!!
That being said it is still a good book!! I’ve always liked different and darker books and am not ashamed to admit that!!
If you’re not into it don’t read it!!
No judgement from me!! It’s a book!!
There were parts that made me smile, cringe and gasp out loud!! Not for the faint at heart!! So totally K!!! I’m glad I took this Wild ride!!

  18. Brandy

Holy hell, what an amazing read. K, you have a way with words that push not only boundaries but open your eyes to see beauty in darkness. I love you and will read any book you write.

K Webster has, once again, outdone herself. This book was everything I’ve come to expect and more. The characters were well developed & engaging. The plot, with it’s twists and turns, kept things interesting. Just when you’d start to get comfortable, things would happen that changed everything. It’s not for everyone due to some of the subject matter and events. You should definitely heed any warnings, because they’re there for a reason.

  20. Mary Mooney

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
    4.5 Stars
OMG… what to write about this book. It is WILD and it did hit my reading boundaries but I finished it and I am so glad I did. Because the book changed direction for the better. It was gut-wrenching through most of it but well worth the read.
Reed and his family have been through enough. He is moving them from the big city to a remote part of Alaska. Where there are no phones, no people, no nothing except them. And well the animals. There is pain and heartache in the wilderness too. And don’t forget the wild animals.
I say read this one for yourself if you want and you don’t mind a taboo story, yes it hits close to extreme taboo. But you don’t have to read it because it is NOT for everyone. Do read the warning before reading it and after you read it, don’t complain it wasn’t for you because you were warned.
    K. Webster has pulled out all the stops with this one and touched on some touchy issues, it is worth the read if you can get through it because some can’t. So enjoy it if you give it a chance.

–Warning: The Wild is an extremely taboo story. Most will find that the themes in this book will make you incredibly uncomfortable. This book is only for the brave, the open-minded, and the ones who crave love in even the most dismal of situations. From page one, I knew I was hooked. Taboo? Yes! Sinfully tasty? Definitely! Amazingly wild story? Absofigginlutely! I have never been pulled so strongly into a book and K.Webster has absolutely tested my mind with her words. I will continue to come back for more.. Always.

This is the best book yet!!!! By far the most freaking amazing taboo story I’ve ever freakin read.
Keeping this spoiler free means a vague review from me.
This one is getting added to my top 5 this year. Also now one of my all time favourite books! Unbelievably crazy! Page turning. Wtf’ing reading pleasure.
I couldn’t put it down. It’s just that good! Click it. Forget about any kind of right and wrongs you have been taught and keep on reading!!

Please make sure you read the warning before diving into this taboo read!

another fantastic read by K Webster.
this is a very Taboo, sick, great and amazing read.
k webster has one twisted mind and it’s great to see!
I volunteered to read a copy of this book and would read it over and over, best read of this year for sure!

  25. Jocelyn

Let me start of by saying I LOVE this book!!!!! This book is for open-minded readers. Readers who enjoy a good taboo story will love it but its Not for the faint of heart. This book pushes the boundaries and is unpredictable I recommend this book to those who can handle a great sinfull stoy. I read it in a day because I simply couldn’t put it down it was that good.
That being said this book is very well written I loved the story line loved the twists and fell in love with the characters. In a nutshell I loved everything about it!!

    K. Webster has definitely won the crown of TABOO QUEEN

Soooooo! I was nervous to read this book with all the hoopla that’s been going on, But I had to see for myself. K Webster is a new author to me and I decided to go into it with an open mind. I read all kinds of Romance and Erotica from A to Z, so I really wasn’t that nervous. I will admit that this book deals with some serious social taboos, and is definitely not for everyone. But there is an extensive warning at the beginning of the book, in fact it’s the biggest warning I have ever seen in a book. So I finished the book and I’m still alive and well, phew! I felt the book was an intense read that was well written. I really enjoyed the story telling and honestly I am glad that I found a new author. Did this book push my boundaries and make me question my morals, sure. But I’m sorry, I’M NOT SORRY that I read it. I think K Webster is an amazing author and I will be reading the rest of her books.

    ✱✱✱✱✱ HUGE ASS WARNING!! ✱✱✱✱✱

This book right here… it ain’t for everyone… many people are not even going to try it… even more will try and not finish… AND THAT’S OK. Because we all have different tastes and opinions on what we allow ourselves to read. Different strokes for different folks and all that. But THE WILD was straight up alright with me 😉 Sure I had to suspend belief numerous times throughout the story. Sure it went against everything I firmly believe. Sure it took me right out of Normal Land and straight into fukry. It gave me exactly what I needed and I’m absolutely fine in the end.

    My Review
EUREKA!! I was looking for a book that would have me questioning myself. Something that would take me out of the everyday. Something that would challenge me. And golly gee, I found it in The Wild. This story had me taking a hard look at my moral compass. It made me realize that I love nothing better than diving and splashing in the dark pool of K. Webster’s imagination.
“Her smiles are my sustenance. I don’t need food or water. I just need to see her blue eyes shining with love and adoration and joy.”
Obviously I loved this story, but the same is true for every story I’ve conquered by this author. I use the word conquer because there is always a certain fear that I won’t like what I find when I read one of her darker books. Not because of the story held within its pages, but because of what I find out about myself while reading it. I never knew I craved such dark delights. And some of the people and circumstances that titillate me in her fictional world would absolutely appall me in reality. And yet, I can’t get enough. The Wild showed me how true that really is. And this speaks to how amazing this freedom of artistry is. I get the chance, over and over again, to escape into worlds that I wouldn’t even dream of in real life and bask in them, whether they be light-hearted romances, steamy romcoms, or dark and twisted taboo reads.
“Love, brilliant and deep and powerful, shines in his eyes. It burns me. Scalds me. Imprisons me. Suffocates me. But it also fills me. Fuels me. Frees me.”
In keeping this review spoiler-free, I’m not going to mention any part of the plot. Not. One. Piece. Because giving away even one tidbit will ruin the surprise this author has in store for you. If you’ve ever read any of her dark romance reads before, you already know what you’re getting into. And if you haven’t… well, you’ve got to trust that she wouldn’t take you too far into the dark and depraved without feeding you some light.

In The Wild, the author provided me with a sordid and sinful getaway. Devon and Reed gripped my heart, my soul, and after the story was done, I found that they still haven’t let go.

  28. Louise H

    OMG. Just OMG.

Why have I never read any work by this author before? And is it all as mind blowing?!!?

This book covers one seriously taboo subject that had I known about in advance would probably have made me chose to not read the book. SO I AM VERY GLAD I DIDN’T KNOW because I really enjoyed this story.

I can say very little about the story that would not spoil it. Instead I will say that it held me gripped. The author took a subject that wasn’t always easy to read and wove a captivating tale that felt both acceptable and believable.

I loved how boundaries (including mine) were pushed. I loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine. I loved the intensity of the story. I loved how well written it was.

This almost loses a bit of the fifth star because I guessed a plot twist that occurs near the end of the book. But then the brilliant writing made me doubt this expectation. It did feel a teensy bit like it was a sop to ease our conscience but I was also quite grateful for it.

I want to read more work by this author.

  29. Kristina

OMG The Wild may be the hardest book ever to write a review for. First because the element of surprise needs to stay with the reader so no giving anything away. Second it made me question my own morals. I’m not joking one bit when I say that. This book will push your comfort levels on all fronts. It’s the most taboo book I have ever read and I maybe cheated at one point and did a search in order to have myself finish it. With that all being said if you’re brave enough to read all the way through you will find a beautiful love story. It’s not an easy one either. It’s not conventional.

Reed, wow I felt his pain several times, it was hard not to feel every single thing he went through. He’s lost so much but with such tragedy he’s learned to hold on to what he has. The Wild changes him in so many ways but it’s not only tragic but a heartfelt journey. In the end I found I loved this crazy wild story. It’s not like anything I’ve ever read before and leave it to K Webster to give it to me. To give this highly uncomfortable story that will make you question yourself. Please heed the warnings in this book. I feel some books don’t really need the warning labels (my opinion) but this one does. I highly recommend this book to those that love extreme taboo books.

  30. Tricia Bartley

    Enter at your own risk!!!

Warning……please read the WARNING at the beginning of the book. This book is VERY TABOO!! Very DARK. Read some of the reviews that state “spoilers” on them to find out if this book will be a Trigger for you and they will help you decide if you want to read this book. I seen a post one day I believe from the author, “If you have Triggers, you should probably stay away from this book. Seriously you have been warned!!

OHHHkayy…now that all that has been written, onto my

I think I will be pretty vague in my review though because I am not one to write spoilers in my reviews. Or at least I hope And if you read my reviews, then you know I love going in blind!!! And yes I did see all the warnings and that it was dark and that it was Taboo, but ummm this book is by K. Webster…one of my very Fav Dark Authors….heck yesss I want to read this book!!! lol

Sooo this book was about a family that decides to move to the Wild due to pain and hurt they have had in their lives. Mom had gone into a depression. Daughter was growing up and dad didn’t particularly like how boys were starting to look at her. So dad decides to move them to the Wild to protect them, get them away from society.

“No people. No technology. No interference.
    Just us.
A chance to piece together what was broken.”

But even in the Wild you can not be protected from everything or everyone. You can’t even protect your heart from who you love.

I gave this book 5 iScream Cones. Yes this book was Taboo…Yes this book was Dark. Yes this book made me Cringe….several….ummm several times. I may have even had to make my mind think a little different so I could get past some scenes, and then I had to cringe a bit more..but really, I am a huge fan of K. Webster and her writing so although there were some rough parts, I really loved the book.

  31. Maria mendoza

There’s taboo and then there’s K Webster’s unique brand of taboo!
If you read the warning and proceed to read this book, DON’T complain you didn’t like the genre!
Brutally raw, edgy and intense, you can only appreciate this story with an open mind.
When the Jamison family make a move to the back country of Alaska, to live off the grid, they had no idea what the wilderness would bring.
Exciting and emotional, the characters were real and believable. You felt their pain, their promises and despite their forbidden love they were bound to each other by tragedy, need and survival. There are twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat until the end.
It makes you question your own definition of taboo, your sanity and what you would do in similar circumstances.
The story was captivating and totally engrossing. It was one of those stories where I got lost in the pages and couldn’t stop until I finished.

  32. Missey Adkins

A gritty read in the wild. Taboo. Fictional read. The warnings that were given Defintely apply to this order. An open mind is suggested. Great writing outside the box.

I purchased my Ebook copy through Smashwords.

  33. Sonja Mullings

I have been so excited for The Wild back when Ms. Webster was writing it and before I even knew what it was about! The enthusiasm she had for it made me want to read it all the more and I was highly anticipating discovering what forbidden taboo romance it was going to be. Unfortunately, more than a few surprises were spoiled for me, but it didn’t take away any of my enjoyment for The Wild and I honestly don’t believe my view of it would have changed even if I hadn’t know certain things going in because I trust Ms. Webster wholeheartedly as she’s more than earned my trust and I know she would never lead me wrong. And I loved The Wild – it was so amazing and I wouldn’t change anything – absolutely anything – about it because it was written the way Ms. Webster saw it in her head and it just wouldn’t have been the same if she hadn’t stayed true to her vision and I’m so grateful that she did!

I loved the hero and the heroine. The heroine is strong and smart, she’s resourceful and brave and she’s sweet but sassy. She’s mature beyond her years and she’s just a good person and the hero is too. He’s so protective and supportive and the heroine means everything to him – she’s his world and he would do anything for her, to protect her, and to make her happy. He has his bad moments, but they couldn’t make me stop loving him for all the reasons I talked about before. They are a wonderful couple and while their story might be definitely unique and unconventional, their love was just as true as everyone else’s and I loved their love.

The Wild is truly a book that’s not for everyone, I’m not going to tell you why because I refuse to write spoilers in my reviews, but I will tell you that. It is wild, uninhibited, and yes, messed up. The kind of taboo romance it was didn’t bother me, it’s not the first one of its kind that I’ve read about and I’m sure it won’t be the last. If you do decide to take a chance on it, I think it’s more than worth it, just please remember that The Wild is more than the sum total of one taboo aspect, there is beauty and fire and freedom in it and it deserves the chance to be heard.

The Wild is a standalone, it’s told from the hero and heroine’s POV, and they do get their happily-ever-after.

  34. Kendra Allen

    What a wild ride!

From start to finish, I loved every single minute of this book. In all honesty, this is one of the first taboo books I’ve read. I’m down with stepbrothers, but that’s about it. This particular taboo is a first for me, and I can say it won’t be the last.

This book shook me to my core and then some. I soaked up every wild word and panted for more. The Wild coaxed an ugly cry out of me, twice! That has only with two other books.

As for the characters, I adored Reed and Devon. Devon is so strong and has been through so much in her life. My heart went out to her throughout the whole book. And Reed. Damn. There were times when I was calling out to him to take me wildly.

The Wild is exactly that: with wild abandon. Without a doubt, this book is dark, sexy, and full of twists. It pushed the boundaries of something forbidden and turned it into a work of art. I would never expect anything less from K Webster. I have devoured each of her books!

    Keep them coming, K! <3

I think those of you who didn’t read this all the way through missed out on a FABULOUS story. With that being said, this story was amazing and sure threw me for a loop. I am so glad that I don’t listen to others opinions on things especially when it comes to being banned. I don’t know how to put into words how I really feel about this book without giving things away so all I can say is if you’re on the fence about this book, keep reading even if its difficult.

The Wild by Author K. Webster is a taboo novel with incredible love found in the untamed.

“She’s mine. The only one who ever could reach inside me and free the wild. We are one now.”

Reed and his family have been through tragedy and needed a refuge. After liquidating his business, he took one last shot in the dark to help his family heal and find its way back to each other. The Alaskan wilderness has so much more in store for this family.

“This must be hell. Hot and miserable. Teased with what you’ll never be able to have.”

When you get a K. Webster book with a warning as strong as this story held, you know to hold onto your Kindle, grab a good, strong coffee, and avoid going in public until the last page is turned.

“I’m everywhere all at once. I’m nowhere but here. My mind is a cacophony of thoughts and out of control sensations as he shows me what it feels like for two souls to bind. Threaded together.  A tight braid of man and woman.  A link that cannot be severed.  We’re beyond the thrill and needing to feel good.  We’re in love.  Madly.  Deeply.  Desperately.  Sickly.”

As soon as I figured out what direction this story may lean, I became an insatiable reader. I could not gobble up the words fast enough. I was the crazy person going down the too steep ice slope, knowing the tragic ending that could occur, but racing to it with an enthusiastic smile on my face. And man, did that smile grow to the depths of the Grand Canyon. Holy wow! This was like the grand poobah of taboo. My heart raced as the sexual energy rose from the page and soared with delight at the possibility of forbidden love.

“I lose my head around you and I don’t even care anymore.  I just love you in a way I can’t even begin to describe.”

On top of the heat, which this author is known for, there was a story line that made me leave my body and take up residence in the wilderness. It was so vivid and real. There were moments when I had to check my surrounding and moan internally. Then others when I cried big, fat tears for hurt and loss. And a few in which I immediately became a fierce defender and wanted to go Rambo on anything that may have been a threat to the characters.

“You didn’t have to take me.  I gave myself to you.  I’m yours.  Here or out there.  I always was.”

The Wild was a taboo romance of epic proportions. A major no-no, that was a resounding YES.

“My heart is free. No longer caged by the world but released by love.”

This book made my dark and deprived side very, very happy. I’m not uttering a single word about it, you’ll just have to read and experience the deliciously wicked yourself.

I eagerly accepted the challenge of reading the book that shattered the book world.
I’ve enjoyed everything that I have read by K. Webster and I was dying to try this incredibly taboo read.
There was so much beauty and pain in the beginning of this book. My heart ached for the loss being felt, as well as the inability of all to return to normal. There were many parts of this book that tugged at my heartstrings. And also, just as the warning stated, I did find myself cringing during parts of the story. There were some things so wrong, and yet in the context of the story they almost seemed to be fitting. It was the strangest thing and so fantastically written. (Make no mistake that I in no way would condone these things in real life, however unlike the idiot witch-hunters of the book world that can’t seem to disconnect fiction from nonfiction, I can tell the difference and respect an author’s right to their craft. I appreciated that K. Webster wrote a story that was unlike any other I have ever read.)
I had such intense questions that needed answering throughout the book, and I loved the way that the story flowed and kept me in a constant cycle of shock and awe. The writing was truly brilliant to make me feel so many emotions through the duration of this book. There were many times when I felt disgusted, and yet I cared for these characters and their predicaments. They had survived so many horrible and heartbreaking things and held on to each other as their only constant. There was certainly a beauty to be seen and respected in that.
It is truly difficult for me to find words good enough to do this justice and to adequately describe all the ways that The Wild made me feel. Suffice it to say that I think K. Webster is freaking brilliant and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

When I first heard of this book, and read some of the things people were saying, i knew that i would one day read it. That day was today. I had to know what it was about this one book that had so many people up in arms. I’m really glad that I did because even though it made me feel a little weird, it says quite clearly that it is taboo. I won’t lie. I put it down a few times, but I picked it back up because I was going to see it through. This book was raw and uncut. I questioned myself because I didn’t feel the way others had said it made them feel. I seen 2 people that loved each other. And the end was a sneak attack and it makes me sad to think how many people didn’t get that far. Yes. It’s taboo but there are so many things that are because it doesn’t fit into a box made by what should and shouldn’t be. Who are we to tell someone who to love?

I read this book a while ago and could have sworn I had posted a review. It was actually the first K Webster book I ever read. The word “banned” attached to a book title generally tells me I should definitely read it if only to find out why someone would even consider something as ridiculous as banning a title. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my journey into The Wild. I do not like to give reviews that give away plot lines…you should read it yourself, if you dare! I will say, heed the content warnings and if you don’t have a small, possibly hidden, dark corner in your heart/mind this book may not appeal to you.

I don’t know where to start… God, this book was so beautiful. It was all consuming. I couldn’t stop, and when I wasn’t reading it I was thinking about it. Reed is the kind of man that every woman dreams of and Devon is sweet funny and sassy. They may be taboo but they are so perfect. Their love is both sinful and so pure. They are soulmates and you see that before they do. I can’t say enough amazing things about it. This book may not be for everyone. All of her banned books are for me though. I can’t stop reading them.

    K. Webster is an unbelievable writer. I will read everything she writes.

The Wild is one of the best taboo books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. It fed my dark, twisty heart so good and I am about to dive right into Free. Read the warning and go in blind, it’s the best way. Highly recommended.
